TR PLUS - Centre For Turkey in Europe

Chaired by Turkish journalist and writer Zeynep Gogus, TR PLUS – Centre for Turkey in Europe is an independent non-profit policy network founded on 2006, based in Brussels and dedicated to the integration of Turkey in Europe.

Our mission is to engage politicians, business people, writers and others in constructive debate about Turkey's future role in Europe. We combine an analytical approach to the issues raised by Turkey’s accession negotiations with a celebration of the intellectual and aesthetic creativity that this partnership can unleash.

TR PLUS, recently opened a representative office in Turkey to promote its activities on EU and Turkey civil society dialogue.

Zeynep Göğüş

An expert in European Union issues, Zeynep Göğüş is one of Turkey’s leading commentators on EU-Turkey relations and a long-time exponent of Turkey’s European vocation. She worked in journalism for over twenty years in a career that took her from international reporting as Brussels bureau chief, editor and columnist for national Turkish media to an independent role in Turkish broadcasting involving high-profile television commentaries and interviews. A winner of numerous journalistic awards, she has received the Best Columnist Award given by professional Turkish media organisations on four separate occasions. At present, she is a free-lance contributor to various newspapers and magazines.

Her second book was a compilation of her articles on social and cultural issues, while her third was about women and politics. Her most recent work, “Letters about Europe to my son”, deals with EU matters and was published in 2002.
